The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) approved the implementation of the Odisha Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR) Project on April 6, 2022.
The project involves the construction of a 111.2 km long six-lane ring road connecting Rameswar, Khurda town, Bhubaneshwar, Athagarh town, Cuttack town, and Choudwar town in the state of Odisha at an estimated cost of Rs 25,000 million. The project will be implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Funds worth Rs 6,000 million will be provided by the state government for the land acquisition of the project. The completion period for the project is 30 months.
Meanwhile, the other projects approved by the ministry are the Widening and strengthening of Patnagarh-Padampur Road and Bargarh-Bhatli-Ambabhona Road Project and the Cosmopolis Square Flyover Project.
